Join us as we look back at one of Fashion's greatest : Madame Grès: Sphinx of Fashion.
The Museum at FIT "presents the three most important stylistic elements of the designer's work: her classically inspired gowns, her simple and geometric designs based on ethnic costume, and the three-dimensional, sculptural quality that was a hallmark of much of her work. Join Patricia Mears, deputy director and curator, and author of Madame Grès: Sphinx of Fashion (Yale University Press 2008), as she reveals a behind-the-scenes look at this major museum exhibition." Take a closer look at one of the greatest dressmakers of the twentieth century, her life, her work, her art.
